We made it! Reveals week! I’m so glad you stayed with us!
We did a quick little video with a few tips to change up your quilt photography. Check out the video to see it all in motion.
We picked a pretty generic background outside so this isn’t a full-on “quilts in the wild” tutorial. You’ll get some ideas on different photos to take of a full quilt.
1. Change your distance
Take a wide shot, close shot, then tight. It could be a photo of just one block!
2. Change your angle
Take the same shots at an angle. Go wide, close, then tight.
3. Change your perspective
Don’t be afraid to get on the ground to take a photo if there’s something interesting above that will enhance the quilt. Take the same photos you took before...wide, close, and tight.
It’s pretty simple, but it makes a lot of difference if you change it up!
Longarm Quilting Giveaway!
Also, we have our last giveaway for the quilt along! Brown Eyed Quilter is giving away free longarm quilting service on throw size and smaller (large quilts would have throw size quilting subtracted from the full charge).
Be sure to post your quilt top photo week the hashtag #LilianStarQALReveal on Instagram for a chance to win! Check out Instagram post for detail. The winner will be drawn on Monday, May 17. Emily is also offering a 20% discount on longarm quilting for any quilt made during the quilt along. Be sure to follow her on Instagram and sign up for her email list!
